There are a few reasons you may want to decline a trade with someone. Maybe the pc has flaws that you don't prefer. Maybe you were offered a photocard that isn't your priority. Maybe you were offered a photocard that isn't equal in value. Whatever the reason may be, you might be nervous about declining.
Don't be scared or pressured into a trade, if you're not comfortable with it, no one can force you to. However, I would bring up declining the trade as early as possible. It is very annoying to have your photocard packed and ready to go and then someone says, "I want to back out of this trade."
First off, waiting too long gets the other person excited to get their photocard and then you're taking it back. It also may result in them wasting the packing supplies on you.
So again, if you want to decline, do it in the very beginning stages of a trade.
So how exactly can you decline a trade politely? Be up front and be honest.
Some examples:
"I'm sorry, your photocard has damages and I'm no longer comfortable with trading but thank you for your time."
"I'm sorry, the photocard you're offering isn't a priority photocard for me but thank you for your interest."
"I'm sorry, our photocards do not match in value, would you want to add another to make up the value difference?"
Whatever your reasoning may be, just be polite about it and the other person will appreciate that.
