This is the biggest fear of every collector - what if the photocard I receive is fake?
There are a few precautions you can take to ensure the photocard you're getting is legit.
Genuine photo cards have what I call "nuggets." They are really little tabs of paper in the corners or along the sides and/or bottom of the photocard. This indicates it was separated from a batch in the factory - they punch them out of big sheets. Here's an example of what I mean by nugget:

Keep in mind, lucky draws and most POBS do not have the little nuggets on them.
2. Do your research on the seller. Do they have a lot of proofs? Do they have solid reviews on whatever website you're purchasing from? Also, you can look up the photocard you want to buy online elsewhere to compare the images to see if they look like similar quality.
3. Reach out to your mutuals - some may have a good eye for spotting fakes!
