However, if you don't have a printer and want to do your tracked shipping in store, the process is pretty easy!
You'll pack up your items at home and go to whatever shipping store you prefer, I have found usps to be the most cost effective.
You'll walk in, get in line, and wait for an associate to help you.
Once they're ready, you'll let them know you want to ship out your item (you also don't have to ship right now, you can just get the price estimate from them if needed).
They'll ask for the address so many sure you have the recipients full name, street address, city, state, zip code, and country.
They will weigh the item and give you different mailing options, you choose what is best and then that's it! You'll pay for it; they give you a receipt which will give the tracking number along with the city the item is headed to on it.
Don't be afraid to ask them questions, I knew nothing about shipping when I first started. I probably annoyed them by asking so many questions, but you don't know what you don't know - ask!
