There are many different usps mailing options and it can be somewhat confusing. Hopefully this helps.
The option I use most is first-class mail. I use this when I'm sending a tracked photocard in my standard envelopes or a small bubble mailer! This option, from what I have noticed is the cheapest. As far as time: your item should be delivered in 1–5 business days and small packages in 2–5 business days.
This is what usps has posted around first-class mail: "First-Class Mail® is an affordable mail service for standard-sized, single-piece envelopes weighing up to 3.5 oz and large envelopes and small packages weighing up to 13 oz. Prices start at $0.60 at a Post Office."
The next option I use quite often is media mail. When I'm shipping out a dvd or album, this is the most cost-effective option I have found. While it is slower, it cuts the cost down tremendously. The only thing important to note, I have heard stories about media mail and the fact that usps is allowed to open the package to investigate it, however, I have not run into this issue. As far as time, your item should be delivered in 2–8 business days.
This is what usps has posted around media mail: "Media Mail® is a cost-effective way to send media and educational materials. This service has restrictions on the type of media that can be sent. Prices start at $3.49 at a Post Office."
